The only way I lost weight was eating a 1000 calorie diet, cutting out all sugars, startches and fried foods. Working 10 hours on my feet and walking an additional 30 minutes every day. And as soon as I backed off some, my weight immediately started coming back. You can judge what people aren't doing and decide what people should or shouldn't eat while sitting behind a screen. But that's called talking out of your ass.

These people actually need mental help too! Not just weight loss doctors. They have some reason that's blocking them from liking themselves enough to help themselves.

For me, when I had appendicitis, I thought I just had really bad painful gas lol. It felt like I couldn't pass it no matter what and I remember crying and tossing and turning in bed. Eventually my mom got off work early to come check on me because I was hurting so much and decided I needed to go to the hospital. I guess appendicitis feels different for everyone? I have no idea haha

I wish cutting portions worked! If your metabolism is good, that would work. But a lot of people don't have that type.

I was a caregiver for my mother and sister for around 9 or 10 years. Early in 2020 I was looking at my doctor’s patient portal and accidentally saw my weight (despite my best efforts to not see it) and I had gained 20 pounds in one year! I was so exhausted and probably somewhat depressed that I didn’t have enough energy to cook. I was doing this with a full time job. I was ordering almost every meal from restaurants. That restaurant food is high in calories. Even a restaurant salad can have my quota of calories in a day, I’m 5’1”. Then came the pandemic and I gained 30 more pounds. Now I’m trying to get it off. It’s a complicated thing and that “that’s all it takes” attitude is typical of people who don’t have this problem. I’ve been in Noom and lost quite a bit then something sent me into a tailspin and I gained it back and more. I just recently tried Ozempic. I’m pretty sure I now have that poison out of my body. Kabir, trust me, almost every person who has this problem may take it off but it will always come back. If there was an easy solution, none of us would be fat. I’m not a person who has always been overweight but I’m still struggling. The attitude that so many slim people have that you can just do it makes things so much worse because it’s just not like that.

I had power and gas the whole time. I didn't have water for 8 days. We were getting emergency notifications saying not to attempt to venture out to find water. There wasnt any and it was a dangerous waste of time.

Right now; I can't do much physical activity. I used to be an avid hiker and walker. Then the migraines started, and then I was diagnosed with narcolepsy. If I do anything physical; even mowing the lawn it sometimes triggers a migraine. I am seeing the doctors again in 2 weeks to see if something can be done. The meds aren't working and I have no motivation; all I do is work, sleep and watch youtube. I miss walking so badly. But the pain is unreal after just a light walk of 4000-5000 steps. Sometimes it takes days for them to go down.

I am right outside of Houston, Tx. My youngest son was 3 months old and my other two were 4 and 8….it was an adventure to say the least. I got all the blankets in my house and covered all doors and windows to insulate. It was 28 degrees INSIDE my home before all was said and done. I used candles and terracotta pots flipped upside down to warm us up as much as possible; it works surprisingly well if you have more than one. I was born and raised here..I don’t do cold weather. I’d prefer our almost 120 degree summers daily over ever going through that again.

The biggest person I worked with was almost 900 lbs. He had to be weighed on a shipping scale. She's a carb addict. I've been a premier trainer since 2003. I was surprised she was young. I expected her to be menopausal or post-menopausal because hormones can really derail you. She's obviously got insulin resistance, so she'd have to eat keto or carnivore so she isn’t near carbs or sugar. Her addiction would go away at a max in about the 3rd week. If she was lifting weights and doing interval training, she'd increase her metabolism because of the added muscle. I've had clients win weight loss contests, and weight training is the key. Big Food is killing Americans. You have to drop the fake food. The same scientists who worked for the cigarette companies moved over to the cereal industry. Big Food literally hired these people to make food addictive. I would be wary that this person was hired by Novo Nordisk to sell Ozempic or other semaglutides. Right now, I'm working with a woman in her 60s who started at 400 lbs. She's down to 250 now, but she has made a commitment to keep going. People don't even know they are food addicts. Don't touch any food that is packaged, bagged, processed, canned ... none of it. You might as well eat a little poison every day. Eat food in its natural form. You'll jones like a crack addict for a few days, but once you get past the carb/sugar addiction, it gets easier.

Everybody I know believes it was an inside job. I've watched so many ex-secret service and snipers say it's obvious this was an inside job. I predicted it. I mean get real! Not just weight loss, but something I'm finding is that walking, hiking or swimming for an hour is definitely helpful for my physical and mental health as well! Mainly doing it for my mental health but the physical benefits are a big bonus. Helps me not feel depressed or anxious. Helps me sleep better too! Edit: 16:01 i think going under anesthesia and being that obese can pose a big risk to their heart. There's a chance they won't wake up. It's a risk to the patient and a liability for the hospital.

This was too painful to watch. She has a food addiction and needs to get serious help. That help plus diet and a personal trainer to keep her motivated.

I have an aunt like this. Always wants to do it the easy way. She pretended for years that she was trying but trying just meant going to every “miracle pill” she could find. After 30 years her strategy eventually worked when ozempic hit. She might have lost a bunch of weight but that shit made her insane in the brain.

"Lowering prescription drug costs for seniors" is such BS my elderly neighbor had to sell her car to afford her medication because the price of it keeps going up.

Just know that ALR doesn’t actually try to lose weight. She constantly kept consuming way too much. So she got more obese from gluttony and constantly going back to eating badly while not working out as well. The other extreme of ALR is Eugenia Cooney.

First, asking where her family was is silly. If she was over 200 lbs at 11 years old, her family had already failed her. Second, if you can't have the discipline to lose weight by diet and exercise, you won't have the discipline to keep it off after the surgery. The average weight loss after surgery is about 85 lbs because people lose a ton of weight, then they go back to their eating habits and gain a bunch of it back. I've seen it happen with several people. And that's if the surgery doesn't kill you. It nearly killed my mil. It nearly killed my good friend's buddy. Sepsis is no joke. They need counciling and a support group like AA where they can be accountable in person with others going through the same thing.

How does she move, it's so sad. She must have some deep down issues. I gave up soda and sweets. In the past 8 months I have lost 68 pounds. I try to eat small portions which helps.

I can say from personal experience that walking a lot DOES help with weight loss.

I am in San Antonio, and I was one of the incredibly lucky ones. We only lost power for 6 hours. We were only so lucky because we are on the same grid as the airport, which was critical infrastructure. And thank goodness because it meant my mom could come to my house with her concentrator and continue to breathe. But we kept the thermostat at 50°F, had a fire going 24/7, and kept everyone bundled up. Luckily my parents are from Ohio and know how to drive in those conditions, and taught me how to, too. I spent way more time than I care to think about checking in on friends and offering them my house's relative warmth. As for the Texas grid, part of why it is isolated is because Texas, since way back, didn't want the federal government telling it what to do. Even after the Great Freeze they won't because they would have to meet federal regulations (interstate commerce) which they don't want to do. The problem is when a power plant goes down, it requires power to start back up, and on an isolated grid, where so many plants are down, you run the risk of just never having the power. And we were hours away from this. (Per my friend who is an electrician.) And if you think that they have done anything to weatherize the plants, they really haven't. Heck, they have trouble dealing with the heat we have normally. ERCOT is run by folks that care more about profit than they do their responsibility to the state.

Sadly, we are all guilty of lying to ourselves. She was hoping the weight off. Attempting to lose weight takes planning, forethought and commitment. If she'd started small steps, each week increasing, I believe she might have conquered. However, attitude plays a tremendous role. She didn't believe in herself. It was easier to blame other than...

Weight loss isn't a straight line down it more up and down but trending down over time. If you are in her position then maybe see a psychiatrist and see if there is a mental health issue.

A single person in the US shopping for the week that does their own cooking and has some staples already will spend around $75-$150 (in the SE). If it's all pre-prepared and microwavable or air fryer stuff, probably around $100 - $125. A larger quantity of fresher items, around $100-$200 - again, if they already have staple goods and frozen items. We aren't even counting the meat already in the freezer. If starting from scratch, we're talking $200+ easy. California is probably more expensive. I remember when I could eat for the week on $25 ($50 for the good stuff), and that was only 20 years ago.

Kabir you aren't considering that these people are outeating ANY exercises or movements. Drinking three 2 liter sodas in a day and eating a snacks and junk can't be outdone by walking.

9:50 When I was in the Marine Corps, I had to eat 16,000+ Calories a day to not drop below 190 pounds at 5' 10" For someone her size... Just walking is a full body workout due to the sheer amount of weight she has to move with every step... It's why a lot of people who had weight issues don't really have to worry about Leg-Day as much and will often end up with disproportionately muscular legs, because every day is a natural leg day. As a former and current Fat Guy... I always get compliments on my Calf muscles, because they are super defined due to the fact that i'm moving well over 200 pounds with every step I take.

Being a dietitian what you are saying about not having to change what she or anyone else eats in a day is SO WRONG! I also wheelchair bound so I had to laugh at you telling people that all they need to do is go out and walk. What about those of us who can't walk? Think of things like that before you say them please. She needs to eat less at each meal, drink nothing but water, avoid the junk food such as ice cream, eat more veggies and avoid certain fruits that are naturally high in sugar. Some people CAN'T do it themselves and do need weight loss surgery to help them.

A lot of these "weightloss channels" get a lot of hate because if you watch more than two videos you quickly realize that they are never going to change.
